Outdoor Learning/Forest School

Forest School Information Booklet for Parents

Forest School is an innovative educational approach to outdoor play and learning that provides engaging, motivating and achievable tasks and activities in an outdoor environment. The children have the opportunity to learn about the natural environment, how to handle risks, how to use their own initiative to solve problems, co-operate with others, develop their social skills, establish and grow in confidence, self-esteem and become self- motivated. Whether it’s in the mud kitchen, digging area, swinging on the tyre swing, building a den or climbing the climbing tree the children always enjoy Forest School.

Each session is finished with hot chocolate and biscuits. The final session there is a camp fire with roasting marshmallows.
