Welcome to Bishop's Cleeve Primary Academy
I am delighted to have been recruited as the permanent Head Teacher of Bishop's Cleeve Primary Academy. BCPA is one of the founder schools of the GLA Education Trust and is the largest school within the family.
I have been working within the GLA for over 5 years, all of this time has been in a senior leadership capacity. First of all, I was the non-teaching deputy Head at Rowanfield Infant School, then promoted to Head Teacher at this school. In January 2019, I also became the the Head Teacher of another of our Trust schools; Longford Park Primary Academy. During this time, I also remained in post at Rowanfield Infant School. The challenges of being Head Teacher in two very different schools was an excellent learning opportunity for me and I found the experience valuable to my own professional development.
Since joining BCPA, I have gained vital knowledge of the whole school community; staff, parents and pupils. Working closely with Mrs Watton has ensured I have received an insight into those areas of strength and aspects which could be improved to ensure that the education we provide for pupils of BCPA is the absolute best it can be.
I am looking forward to working with you all at various points in the years to come. I am committed to 'being the best I can be' to support everyone in the BCPA community to 'Be the best they can be'.
Here at Bishop's Cleeve, our children are at the heart of everything we do. We strive for every child to fulfil their potential and to 'be the best they can be'! We are incredibly proud of our school and, as part of the Gloucestershire Learning Alliance, work continually to improve our practice and give our children the very best opportunities to ignite their enthusiasm for learning.
Set within 16 acres, outdoor learning is actively encouraged at BCPA. We offer two generous Forest School zones; separate infant and junior playgrounds; a large outdoor play area for our Early Years provision; and a huge field which spans the full length of our site.
We are pleased to operate an 'open door policy' here at BCPA and are always available via phone or email. As schools begin to return to normal following the Covid-19 closures, we look forward to being able to invite both current and prospective families to come and see us in action.
Our admin team will respond to emails as soon as possible however, if your enquiry is urgent, please phone the School Office.
Most of our communication to parents is via email so please do check your inbox (and junk folder) regularly. If you require a paper copy of any of the information on our website please ask a member of staff in the school office and we will be happy to provide this for you. Please also make sure that the office has up to date contact details for all of your emergency contacts.
