Bishop's Cleeve Primary Academy

Safeguarding

Bishop’s Cleeve Primary Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

We have several policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment. Our Safeguarding Policy and other relevant policies can be found on the GLA Trust website.

Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child's welfare. We will ensure that any concerns about a child are discussed with their parents/carers first unless we have reason to believe that this would be detrimental to the child's welfare.

We actively support the Government's Prevent agenda to counter radicalism and extremism, and all staff are trained on identifying a child who may be at risk of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and/or has been subject to FGM.

In both situations, an immediate response to the police is vital.
