Our hot meals are freshly prepared and cooked in our kitchen at BCPA by staff from Alliance in Partnership (AIP).
Separate dining halls provide a space for KS1 and KS2 children to enjoy healthy food with their friends.
Children in KS1 are entitled to a free hot dinner every day - they just need to let their teacher know on the day that they would like a hot dinner when the register is taken.
Meals for children in KS2 are charged at £2.10/day, payable via ParentPay only. A minimum payment of £6.30 is required. Hot lunches must be paid for in advance. Children are asked each day at morning registration whether they would like a hot dinner, they do not need to be booked in advance. From January 2018 we will be moving to a sytem of pre-ordered hot lunches. Each morning, when taking the register, the children will be asked which type of hot dinner they would like: a meat-based meal; a vegetarian meal or a jacket potato. Key Stage 1 children will be shown a picture of each meal to support their choice. Prior to collecting their meal in the hall, the children will be given a coloured token representing their meal choice to hand to the kitchen staff. It is our hope that this sytem will guarantee children their choice of food and will reduce food waste.
Alternatively, a healthy packed lunch can be bought in from home. We ask that children do not bring fizzy drinks, sweets or chocolate to school. We are a healthy school and we promote a balanced diet for all of our pupils.
