Be the best you can be

School Day

Image of a clock

We open our school gates at 8.40am when children are able to access their classrooms under the supervision of their teacher. The school day starts promptly at 8.50am and ends at 3.15pm. Registration is from 8.50am to 9.00am.

The main school gates will be locked each morning at 8.50am. Children arriving after this time will need to report to the school office where the reason for their lateness and school dinner requests will be recorded.

Assemblies

Children in Key Stage 1 take part in an assembly every day from 9.00am - 9.15am and those in Key Stage 2 have their assembly at 10.45am - 11.00am each day.

Morning Playtimes

Children in Key Stage 1 have a morning playtime from 10.35am - 10.55am in the Infant Playground. Key Stage 2 children have their break from 11.05am - 11.25am. The children in Y3/4 play in the Infant Playground and Y5/6 play in the Junior Playground.

Lunch

Both Key Stages have lunch from 12.25pm - 1.25pm. Key Stage 1 children will eat in the infant hall and Key Stage 2 children eat in the junior hall.

Drop-Off and Collection

At the beginning and end of the school day, parents of Key Stage 1 children are encouraged into the playground. These parents drop-off and collect their children from their child's classroom. This helps to build up a close relationship between home and school. Key Stage 2 children are dropped off and collected at the main school gates. We find that this helps to develop greater independence as children progress through school.

If normal arrangements have to be altered (e.g. you are delayed or another person is collecting your child) please let us know, either in the school office or directly with your child's teacher.

Getting to School

To get to and from school, walking is definitely the best option! Alternatively, we do have cycle racks outside the front of the school where you can lock up bicycles and scooters. If you have to drive to school it is best to park in Tesco's car park which is adjacent to the school. Please be considerate to our neighbours if you park in any of the surrounding roads.

Please note that the school car park is for the use of staff members only. Parents are not permitted to drop-off or collect their children using the school drive for safety reasons.
